The iconic fireworks display of Thrissur Pooram will take place in all its grandeur this year, with strict adherence to safety protocols, said Revenue Minister K. Rajan and Higher Education Minister R. Bindu, while addressing the media at the Collectorate Conference Hall here on Tuesday.
“There will be no compromise on safety, but the fireworks will go ahead in the traditional and spectacular manner,” Mr. Rajan assured. He stressed that the public safety condition—clearing the storage chamber of explosives before the event—will be followed this time.
“All legal requirements will be met. We’ve already taken expert legal advice and necessary measures are being implemented. The fireworks will be just as magnificent as every year,” he added.
Dr. Bindu echoed the commitment, saying, “The district administration is taking all necessary steps to ensure that the fireworks are conducted in a hassle-free and legally compliant way, while respecting the public’s deep-rooted connection to this grand tradition.”
She said that the public can look forward to enjoying the event without concern, as every safety precaution is being carefully enforced. District Collector Arjun Pandian also attended the press conference.
