Cops have no clues about MSU student’s suicide yet
Vadodara: A day after an MSU engineering student committed suicide in the hostel, police have no clues about the factors that led to his extreme step. Police said Abhishek Sharma didn't leave behind a suicide note before hanging himself with a piece of cloth in the hostel's common room.
"We checked Sharma's mobile phone to get some clues. We didn't find any messages or calls that would point to the reasons for his suicide. We questioned his friends and hostel mates. All said that they had no idea that Sharma was disturbed," a police official said.
"We learned that he was quiet and mostly kept to himself. We will continue the investigation. Sharma's body was handed over to his relatives," a police source added. From Jammu and Kashmir, 19-year-old Sharma came to the city to study at MSU.
Early on Sunday morning, Sharma was seen walking into the common room of the MV Hall and closing the door from the inside. He used a piece of cloth to hang himself. Sharma's hostel mates couldn't find him in his room. They checked the common room and got suspicious as the door was shut from the inside. They found Sharma hanging after opening the door, after which the hostel authorities were informed. An accidental death was registered at Fatehgunj police station.
Police said that it will go through all phone calls and talk to his family after a few days.
