Cops yet to ascertain skeleton’s identity

Koraput: Even after two days of recovering a woman's skeleton from Rengabandh forest under Malkangiri police limits, police are yet to establish the identity of the deceased. According to sources, the skeletal remains were discovered on Saturday after local villagers alerted police.
While initial investigation points to a possible case of rape and murder, police officials stated that they are still exploring all possibilities and no concrete conclusions have been drawn so far. "We have initiated an investigation and are hopeful of ascertaining the identity of the victim. A scientific team has been deployed, and we expect to gather more clues soon," said Rigan Kindo, IIC, Malkangiri police station.
