Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday directed collectors to effectively implement the Bhu Bharathi Act by holding meetings in every revenue village and explaining people's doubts in a manner they can understand.
Addressing the district collectors on Bhu Bharathi, Indiramma Housing and summer action plan for drinking water supply at the MCRHRD Institute, the CM said the Bhu Bharati Pilot Project meetings will be held in Maddur in Narayanpet, Nelakondapalli in Khammam, Lingampeta in Kamareddy and Venkatapur in Mulugu district. Apart from officials, revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and other ministers will also attend the meetings.
He said that people should be informed about the appeal system available in the Bhu Bharati Act as the revenue machinery will itself resolve the issues now unlike earlier when farmers were compelled to go to courts.
Indiramma Houses: Special officer for each constituency
Stating that the Congress govt has taken up construction of Indiramma houses with great pride, the CM said that mandal committees should examine the list approved by village level Indiramma houses committees.
"After that it will be sent to district in-charge ministers. The list of houses will be finalised only after their approval," he said and instructed chief secretary A Santhi Kumari to appoint a special officer for each constituency to monitor the programme and act as co-ordinators.
"No one should succumb to any pressure at any stage in allocation of houses. Action will be taken against mandal-level committee and special officers if houses are allotted to ineligible people," he warned.
Since 3,500 houses were allotted to each constituency, the CM said they be allotted to villages based on population. He also told collectors to ensure houses are built within the specified time-frame.
Drinking water problem should not arise anywhere: CM
To ensure there was no drinking water problems during summer, the CM directed the irrigation, water board and electricity department to work in coordination. Collectors were also told monitor drinking water resources and supply in each village through a dashboard.
"Many villages do not have drinking water pipelines, and many houses do not have taps. It is necessary to ensure they do not face problems. Collectors should pay special attention to Koya and Chenchu gudems and other tribal areas. Funds have already been allocated to collectors for drinking water supply pipelines and repairs and, if necessary, more funds will be allocated," he said.
