University officials said they have not received confirmation that UCA students or anyone in the UCA community were involved in the shooting.
School officials also noted that they were informed of promotional events that included an unauthorized UCA logo and clarified that the university did not authorize the use of the brand. University officials added that they were not involved in planning or hosting any weekend events.
“We believe the promotion was meant to persuade UCA and other college students to attend and falsely align universities with various parties and activities,” the statement said. “Again, UCA did not authorize the use of the logo and was not involved in the planning or hosting of these events.”
