Updated - April 13, 2025 09:11 pm IST - COIMBATORE

Negamam police near Pollachi on Sunday arrested two siblings on the charge of assaulting their father, demanding partition of property.

The police said that K. Subramaniam, 42, and K. Sivakumar, 41, of Mettuvavi were arrested for beating up Kuppusamy, 70, their father.

According to the police, the sons demanded that Kuppusamy partition his 2.4-acre property. However, Mr. Kuppusamy reportedly told them that the partition could be done only after his death.

Annoyed over Mr. Kuppusamy’s decision, Subramaniam and Sivakumar beat him up on April 11. A video of the two accused assaulting the father was widely circulated on social media, and police arrested them on Sunday.
