Ahmedabad: Vejalpur police have begun an investigation after a video went viral showing a person, later identified by cops as Arjan Kaval, damaging vehicles in Aravalli Society and abusing the residents.
Kaval was previously staying as a tenant and was later denied a house on rent in the society because he was involved in a case under the NDPS Act, said R M Chauhan, police inspector of Vejalpur.
Vejalpur police said that Kaval stayed in the society for nearly one year and later wanted to take another house on rent next door. "Several society members objected to Kaval's re-entry bid, and he was not allowed to take the house on rent. Later, he took another house on rent just opposite the society, and created a ruckus to take revenge," said Vejalpur cops.
The video showed a person entering the lanes of the society, damaging two-wheelers and other vehicles. Later, he spotted a CCTV camera and tried to damage it too. The officials said that he was later joined by another youth. "The second person was trying to get him out of the society while Kaval was seen pelting stones at the vehicles," said a cop.
