Chandigarh: A district-level coordination committee meeting was held in Chandigarh under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav to review preparations for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) scheduled on May 4.
The meeting was attended by additional deputy commissioner, sub-divisional magistrates, deputy superintendent of police, director of the National Testing Agency, and officials from departments involved in the conduct of the examination.
The committee discussed arrangements to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the exam in line with standard operating procedures issued by the NTA and the ministry of education. Officials decided that all 11 examination centres in the city will have CCTV surveillance with live feed accessible at a centralised control room in the DC office.
Chandigarh Police will implement traffic and law enforcement measures around exam centres to avoid inconvenience to candidates and maintain order. Strict frisking procedures and biometric attendance will be enforced. Officials have been instructed to prevent the use of unfair means and ensure compliance with all guidelines.
Around 4,500 candidates are expected to appear for NEET-UG 2025 in Chandigarh. The administration has assured that efforts are being made to provide a secure and stress-free environment for the candidates. The DC asked all departments to stay coordinated and alert during the exam period and urged parents and guardians to cooperate with authorities.
