HC tells police to convey stand on BRS meet on April 27
Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Friday directed the state govt and Warangal police to state their stand on BRS' petition questioning delay in giving permission for the party's public meeting to celebrate its silver jubilee at Elkathurty in Hanumakonda on April 27.
The party filed a plea before the HC through district unit president Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, who informed the court that their March 28 and April 4 representations to the police seeking permission had yielded no response.
Home department counsel Mahesh Raje said they were ascertaining details from BRS leaders about parking arrangements, precautions, consent from land owners who permitted BRS to organise its meet on 1,300 acres etc. He sought time till April 21 to convey the decision of the police.
"We received replies only last night from BRS leaders for some of the queries raised by the police," he said.
Justice T Vinod Kumar gave time till April 17 to convey the decision of the police.
