Valsad MP joins President on Europe tour
Surat: BJP MP from Valsad, Dhaval Patel, was part of the Indian delegation led by President Droupadi Murmu during her recent state visits to Portugal and Slovakia. The high-level diplomatic tour aimed to strengthen political and economic ties between India and the two European nations.
As part of the delegation, Patel joined President Murmu in courtesy visits to the Presidents and Prime Ministers of both countries. The team also visited the respective Parliaments, holding formal discussions with the speakers and Presidents of the houses.
In addition to official engagements, the delegation attended gala dinners hosted by the Presidents of Portugal and Slovakia. Under the President's leadership, Patel participated in bilateral dialogues, focusing on deepening cooperation in various sectors.
The Indian diaspora in both countries organized special cultural celebrations in honour of the President and the delegation, showcasing vibrant Indian traditions and expressing support for the growing India-Europe partnership.
In Slovakia, the delegation visited the Tata Group's Land Rover plant, where Patel interacted with Indian workers, inquiring about their working conditions and family well-being. The visit highlighted India's growing industrial presence in the region.
Patel also accompanied the President on a cruise boat tour, exploring Slovakia's scenic and historical sites. The itinerary also included a visit to the Lisbon Municipal Corporation, where a formal meeting with the mayor was held to discuss urban governance and cooperation.
