800 pounds of marijuana found with stranded driver in Posey County
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — One person is in custody after authorities say they found him with 800 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.
According to the Posey County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 4-mile marker of Interstate 64 to assist a stranded motorist just after midnight early Saturday morning.
After further investigation, deputies say they discovered 800 pounds of marijuana and synthetic marijuana in the cargo bay of the car.
The driver, 69-year-old Clarance Shipman of Fort Payne, Alabama, was suspected to be transporting the marijuana from Los Angeles, California to North Carolina.

Shipman was arrested and charged with Dealing Marijuana. He is currently being held without bond.
