Young Indians Parliament to be launched
Mysuru: Young Indians (Yi) Mysuru Chapter, part of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will launch Young Indians Parliament (YiP) 2025. This national-level initiative aims to instil civic consciousness, leadership capabilities and policy understanding among school students.
YiP provides a platform for students to engage in parliamentary simulations, participate in debates and gain first-hand experience in governance and public policy. YiP aligns with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to empower youth without political lineage to step into roles of governance and leadership, promoting the belief that the strength of democracy lies in merit, ideas, and the courage to lead.
Through its three-tier format — City Rounds, Regional Rounds and National Finals — students are encouraged to develop public speaking, negotiation and policy analysis skills. The top-performing students from city-level rounds will move on to regional rounds conducted across eight cities and finalists will take part in the national parliamentary simulation, a statement said.
In 2024, YiP saw participation from more than 4,300 students across 720 schools, facilitated by eight Yi City Chapters. The initiative focuses on relevant and critical themes, including skill development & ai readiness, environmental sustainability, education reform, youth empowerment, women & child safety and technology & cybersecurity.
Yi Mysuru Chapter now invites schools in Mysuru region to submit their Expression of Interest by April 30 to be part of this youth leadership initiative.
