Ajmer: Police, Thursday, arrested a man involved in a digital arrest and online fraud case for providing his bank account to the main accused, from Parbatsar in Didwana-Kuchaman district. The incident took place in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in Nov 2024.
On Jan 24, Anurag Kumar of Kanpur reported to the cyber cell that he was digitally arrested by a caller posing as a BHEL representative. The caller claimed a drug-laced consignment in Anurag's name was en route from Mumbai to China. Between Nov 18 and 27, Anurag was coerced into transferring Rs 5.18 lakh to various accounts.
Ajmer SP Vandita Rana said Omkar Singh, 45, of Parbatsar, was arrested after one of the accounts was traced by the Ajmer cyber cell.
