Aizawl: With the resurgence of African Swine Fever (ASF) raging in four districts of Mizoram, the number of pig casualties reach 1,700 mark (1,712) while 559 pigs have so far been culled to prevent further spread of the porcine disease as on Friday.
State animal husbandry & veterinary officials said 130 pig casualties have been registered with 46 pigs being culled on Friday in three district headquarters of south Mizoram's Lawngtlai, Siaha and Lunglei districts. Lawngtlai borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh, Siaha with Myanmar and Lunglei with Bangladesh.
