Meet man who used to earn Rs 20 for cleaning tables, later built Rs 120 crore business, his name is…., business is…

Nitin Kalra is the founder of a healthy snack company called Let’s Try. He is the inspiration of several young entrepreneurs who want to make an impact in the business world. Nitin started his business from scratch and has built a business worth crores today. He has also received funding from Shark Tank India.

Used To Clean Tables

Nitin Kalra faced several difficulties during his childhood. His father used to work as a mechanic at DTC and his mother was a seamstress. He faced many hardships in his life but never gave up. During an interview, Kalra said that he started his professional journey in very simple circumstances.

Nitin began working part-time during college, including a position cleaning tables at McDonald’s for Rs 20 per hour.  He held various jobs throughout his life, eventually working in the food industry for several years. This experience led him to identify a market gap for healthy packaged snacks, prompting him to pursue this area.

Started A Healthy Snack Company

In 2021, with the support of his family, he started a company called ‘Let’s Try’. During the lockdown, when many businesses faced hardships, he launched his first product – Ready to Eat Golgappa. Nitin claims that his golgappas are healthier than the snacks available in the market. His company makes food snacks without any additives or preservatives.

In the beginning, he used to pack his own golgappas and drive to deliver them. Nitin told me that before he started the business, he was offered a job with an annual salary of Rs 1 crore from a company, but he left this offer because he wanted to do something of his own.

Initially, Nitin used to pack golgappas by himself and deliver them. He rejected a lucrative job offer of one crore rupees annually to pursue his entrepreneurial goals.

Funding From Shark Tank India

Let’s Try, the company founded by Karla, secured investment from Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal on Shark Tank India’s first season. This investment fuelled significant company growth, expanding its product line to include additional healthy snacks such as namkeen and makhana.

Today, Nithin’s startup offers over 50 varieties of healthy snack options, including biscuits and cookies. What sets his brand apart is its homegrown approach and focus on health.

His efforts have helped the company grow its turnover to Rs 120 crore within four years.
