3,025 vacancies in aided schools reported for differently abled appointments

A total of 3,025 vacancies in aided schools in the State have been reported for appointment of the differently abled, Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty has said.

The Minister was speaking at a meeting of top officials to discuss differently abled appointments on Wednesday.

Of the 1,188 corporate managers who were to submit rosters, 826 had done so. As many as 2,996 of 4,821 individual managers too had submitted rosters.

As many as 580 of the 1,204 differently abled who had been appointed to aided schools were posted through employment exchanges. The total number of differently abled with teacher qualifications who had registered at employment exchanges was 1,040, while that of the differently abled with non-teaching qualification was more than 1.09 lakh.

The Minister directed that steps continue to be taken to approve differently abled appointments as per a Supreme Court verdict.
