A young Air India Express pilot tragically passed away due to a cardiac arrest shortly after landing a flight from Srinagar at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Wednesday evening. The pilot, identified as Armaan and reportedly in his late 30s, had recently gotten married.

According to airline sources, Armaan successfully operated the Srinagar to Delhi flight on April 9. However, after the aircraft landed safely and he disembarked, he began feeling unwell and vomited inside the airline office premises. The pilot later collapsed at the airline’s dispatch office and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Confirming the incident, an Air India Express spokesperson issued a statement:

“We deeply regret the loss of a valued colleague due to a medical condition. Our thoughts are with the family during this time of profound grief. We are extending all possible assistance to them as we all cope with this tremendous loss.”

The airline also appealed for privacy and urged the public to refrain from speculation:

“We request all concerned to respect privacy at this time and avoid unnecessary speculation while we commit to assisting the relevant authorities in due process.”

Further medical details regarding the cause of the cardiac arrest have not yet been disclosed. The airline is cooperating with authorities in the ongoing process.

The sudden demise of the pilot has sent shockwaves through the aviation community, with tributes pouring in from colleagues and aviation professionals across the country.
