Ex-min criticises HM for handling serious issues lightly
Mangaluru: Former minister B Sreeramulu took a dig at home minister G Parameshwara, stating, "he became home minister by accident," and accused him of treating serious issues lightly.
Speaking at a public meeting held in front of Mini Vidhana Soudha as part of the Janakrosha Yatra here on Wednesday, the former minister said that every time Congress comes to power, jihadi elements become active. Referring to the suicide of a party worker in Madikeri, Sreeramulu appealed to BJP workers not to resort to extreme steps and said, "We are all with our cadres."
Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta also lashed out at the ruling party, calling the govt "thick-skinned" and "shameless." He said, "Several successful movements have started from Mangaluru, and this will be yet another fight for justice."
Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda declared that the BJP will not rest until it removes the Siddaramaiah govt. "We will take our fight against price rise, misgovernance, and attacks on Hindu activists to its logical conclusion," he said. Echoing similar sentiments, former minister V Sunil Kumar said development in the coastal region has stalled under the Congress rule. The govt is more focused on appeasing minorities than ensuring balanced growth. People should show their opposition in the upcoming zilla and taluk panchayat elections, he said.
Leader of the Opposition in the legislative council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, added that the state govt is in the ICU, crippled by scams and corruption. He alleged that the Siddaramaiah government is directionless and has failed to meet the aspirations of the people.
