The traffic police have imposed certain restrictions on movement of vehicles along Puducherry-Cuddalore Road to ensure smooth conduct of Sedal Festival of Sri Subramaniya Swamy temple at Pillaiyarkuppam on Thursday.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Praveen Kumar Tripati, in a release, said vehicles proceeding towards Cuddalore should divert at Thavalakuppam, Abhishekapakkam, Néw Bypass Road, Kanniyakoil, Mullodai to reach the neighbouring district.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Cuddalore should take Kanniyakoil, New Bypass Road and Thavalakuppam junction to reach Puducherry. The diversion will be enforced from 10 a. m to 6 p.m to allow chariot procession to move from a point near Arupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital to Kirumampakkam junction before turning towards Pillaiyarkuppam village, the release said.
