Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) V.K. Saxena has ordered the suspension of two officials for dereliction of duty in connection with a case of re-encroachment on a Delhi Development Authority (DDA) land near Pusta Road, from Mayur Vihar Phase-I to NH-24, a senior official said on Tuesday.

Mr. Saxena also warned officials that in case new encroachments upon land parcels owned by the DDA are observed, stringent actions, including criminal charges, besides suspension and inquiry, would be taken.

The suspended officials — an assistant engineer and a junior engineer — were responsible for overseeing the Mayur Nature Park project. An FIR will be lodged under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against them, said the official, adding that a departmental inquiry has also been initiated.

The L-G has asked the DDA Vice-Chairman to submit a detailed report on the inquiry and the action taken within seven days.
