False ceiling collapses at RML
New Delhi: A section of a false ceiling on the ground floor operating theatre's doctors' room in RML Hospital collapsed on Wednesday. No one was injured. This is the second such incident in the last few days.
The hospital division's engineering department found no faults during a routine inspection in the neurosurgery department last month. The engineering wing told the neurosurgery and anaesthesia departments on March 31 that "it was found that there are no defects in the ground floor OT-1 and 2. However, these two OTs are under renovation.... In view of that, it was found to be in perfect condition for the function of OT work, subjected to any unforeseen situation." Doctors have raised apprehensions regarding the prevailing conditions. On condition of anonymity, a physician said the maintenance team's solutions proved ineffective. The hospital indicated that the renovation work remains incomplete. TNN
