Bengaluru woman gets life term for killing daughter who lied she’d passed PU final exams

A city court on Tuesday sentenced 59-year-old Bhimaneni Padmini Rani to life imprisonment for murdering her only daughter, Sahiti Shivapriya, 17, after learning she had lied about scoring 95% in her II PU exams. Rani, upset over the deception and fearing humiliation, stabbed the girl multiple times with kitchen knives at their Banashankari home.
