Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar has directed civic officials to equip all vehicles transporting construction and demolition waste with GPS tracking devices to monitor their movement and ensure proper disposal. He also instructed BBMP and police personnel to keep a close watch on the unloading of such waste and take stringent action against any violations. Speaking to reporters at Sumanahalli, he said, “The BBMP Commissioner and I witnessed 10-15 truckloads of construction waste dumped by the roadside. This prompted me to order the immediate installation of GPS trackers on all such vehicles.”
