Jhunjhunu: Union law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said here Sunday that five crore cases were pending in courts across the country and the Union govt was developing an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism to resolve them.
Meghwal was in Tamkor, Jhunjhunu, to participate in inauguration of expansion of various facilities at Mahapragya International School, operated by Jain Vishva Bharati.
Speaking on the ADR mechanism, he said it would resolve pending cases through means like lok adalats and mediation, and would be launched soon. When asked about vacant positions in courts, he said the govt was committed to ensuring that no positions remain vacant and efforts were on in this direction. tnn
