4 drug-peddlers arrested, ganja seized in Unnao

Kanpur: A joint team of SOG, Surveillance and Kotwali Sadar police seized about 3 kg and 700 gm of illegal ganja from drug-peddlers in Unnao. The action was taken under the direction of SP Deepak Bukhar.
The police arrested four members of the same family, including one man and three women. The arrested individuals, identified as Arun Patharkata, Meena, Sangeeta and Sangam, are residents of Eidgah Colony, Kotwali Sadar.
The police received information that some people were involved in smuggling of ganja. Acting on this information, the team raided Barwat village and apprehended the suspects on the spot.
A case was registered against the accused. Investigations are underway to determine the source of the ganja supply. The police are also probing whether a larger network is involved.
The operation included SOG in-charge Jai Prakash Yadav, Surveillance in-charge Nikhilesh Kumar, sub-inspector Anjani Singh, and other police officers.tnn
