In order to prevent petitioners from having to repeatedly visit ward and village secretariats for months to get their grievances addressed, Telugu Desam Party MLA Bonela Vijayachandra directed officials to resolve grievances within a week.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Mr. Vijayachandra highlighted that many scheduled castes and tribal people faced issues related to land, certificates, new ration cards and pensions. Resolving these issues would be a fitting tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, whose birth anniversary is celebrated on April 14. The MLA also mentioned that during his visits to villages, petitioners and officials are brought together, in order to get quicker responses and firm assurances from the officials.

In one such incident, officials have assured to resolve the water problem and road repair issues within a week in Gangada village of Balijipeta mandal of Parvatipuram-Manyam district. Mr. Vijayachandra said: “Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu always emphasises on timely action whenever he conducts the ‘Rachabanda’ programme. Taking a cue from him, I am holding village-level meetings in Parvatipuram constituency.”
