BEL receives ₹2,210 crore order for Electronic Warfare Suite

Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence valued at ₹2,210 crores (excluding taxes) for the supply of Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite for Mi 17 V5 Helicopters of the Indian Air Force. These systems are indigenously designed and developed by CASDIC, and DRDO, and manufactured by BEL. The EW Suite comprises a Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) and Counter Measure Dispensing System (CMDS) which significantly enhance the combat survivability of the helicopters along with effective countermeasures. With this, BEL has now accumulated orders totalling ₹ 2,803 Crores in the current financial year.
