Lucknow: Young artists showcased talent at ‘Printmaking and Sculpture', an exhibition organised by the College of Arts and Crafts, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lucknow, in collaboration with Kala Srot Art Gallery on Sunday. The exhibition is open to public till Apr 8, from 4 pm to 8 pm daily.
The chief guest at the exhibition was Korean curator and art collector Insang Song, who said, "Although all the artwork made by students, all of it looks professional and very detailed." As many as 35 students displayed 70 paintings and 11 sculptures. The collection reflected a diverse range of themes, techniques, and artistic approaches.
A student, Kamal Prajapati (21), made a sculpture of a woman with no hands and one foot, symbolising that women are unable to fulfil their dreams even under pressure of society, household chores, restrictions and limitations imposed on them.
Another student, Aditya Kumar Gautam (23), who made a painting, said, "My painting shows how thinking too much was becoming a big problem and because of it, all relations of a person get ruined."
Divyanshi Kumar (22) said, "I made a painting depicting solitude, so it shows two people facing different directions making no communication." A visitor, Shreya Verma, said, "Although I am a medical student, I came with my friend, and I am speechless to see the artwork. Artists have portrayed real-life problems and issues on canvas."
