Sri Ramanavami festival celebrated with State honours at Ramateertham temple in Vizianagaram district

Sri Ramanavami festival was celebrated with religious fervour in the 1,000-year-old Ramateertham temple in Vizianagaram district on Sunday with State honours.

Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinnivas offered pattuvastrams and pearls on behalf of the State government and took part in the celestial wedding of Lord Rama with Goddess Sita. Former Union Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu and other public representatives watched Sri Rama Pattabhishekam organised in the temple premises.

Srimadramayana Parayanam, chanting of Sundarakanda, Sata Sahasra Tulasidala Archana, Homam and other celestial activities were organised on the auspicious occasion. Revenue Divisional Officer D. Keerthi and Executive Officer of the temple Y. Srinivasa Rao made elaborate arrangements for the devotees who thronged the temple from different parts of North Andhra region to have darshan of Lord Rama on the occasion of Sri Ramanavami.

Famous Ramanarayanam temple constructed in the form of Lord Rama’s bow by the Narayanam family at Y Junction of Vizianagaram has also witnessed a huge rush of pilgrims from Visakhapatnam and other places. The temple trustee Narayanam Srinivas and others participated in Rama Taraka Mantra Homam, Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsavam and other activities.

Sitarama Kalyanam was performed in the newly-constructed temple of Lord Rama in Kothagaraham and Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple of Ring Road, Vizianagaram. Sri Gurudeva Charitable Trust founder Raparthi Jagadish Babu and members organised several charitable activities in Mangalampalem of Kothavalasa mandal of Vizianagaram district on the occasion of Sri Ramanavami.
