40 injured as pickup van overturns

Keonjhar: A pickup van carrying about 50 persons met with an accident on Monday near Bansapal under Nayakot police station, injuring over 30 persons.
Sources said, on Sunday noon, they were coming to Telajagar village of Banspal block of Keonjhar district from Pallahada area of Angul district to attend a party. The pickup van lost control near Bansapal ITI and overturned on the road.
The police reached the spot and with the help of the locals, the injured were admitted to Banspal community health centre and Keonjhar district head hospital for treatment. About 10 of them in critical condition, were shifted to the district head quarter hospital. The police have seized the vehicle and are investigating the incident.
IIC Nayakote police station Kishore Chandra Pradhan said, "All are sustained minor injuries. Police inquiring the incident with seizuring the vehicle."
