CM for timely relief to disaster victims, stresses on fire safety
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday directed officials to ensure timely assistance and relief to people affected by disasters, especially in the light of rising fire incidents during the summer season.
He emphasised that fire stations across all districts must remain fully operational, and extra vigilance should be maintained to prevent such incidents.
The Chief Minister instructed that in the event of a fire, the eligible compensation should be immediately disbursed to the affected individuals without delay. He further directed the administration to intensify public awareness campaigns on fire safety to help reduce the occurrence of such accidents.
Highlighting the risk of fires triggered by electric wires, CM Yogi ordered the UPPCL to promptly distribute relief funds to the victims in such cases. He also asked that farmers affected by fires in fields or granaries be provided with immediate assistance through the Mandi Parishad, coordinated by the district administration.
In cases where homes are destroyed due to fire, the Chief Minister instructed that immediate relief funds be provided to the victims by local authorities.
He also emphasised the active role of the relief commissioner's office in coordinating with district administrations to ensure seamless relief efforts.
"The Relief Commissioner's office must remain fully functional and responsive, maintaining close coordination with the concerned districts," he said.
The directives come as precautionary measures amidst increasing incidents of fire-related disasters during the ongoing summer season.
