Loot in bizman’s house: No arrests made so far
Patna: No arrests have been made in the loot incident in a businessman's house at Nalanda Colony under Agamkuan police station area on Saturday. The police, however, said they have got some leads with the help of technical evidence and inputs.
According to the police, five armed miscreants entered the house of Santosh Prakash located at Dhanuki More on Saturday morning. They held the family hostage at gunpoint and stole jewellery worth Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 1.25 lakh in cash from the wardrobe before fleeing. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the house and began an investigation.
SDPO-I, Patna City, Atulesh Jha, said at the time of the loot incident, four family members were present inside the house. "The criminals held them hostage in a room and looted the valuables. When the family tried to protest, they threatened to shoot them. The criminals were inside the house for 15 minutes. Action is being taken to identify and arrest them. Besides, an inventory of the stolen jewellery is being obtained," he said.
"According Santosh's family, faces of the criminals were covered with masks. We have checked the CCTV footage of the nearby areas and got some important clues. We cannot share the information now. Raids are going on to nab the accused," the SDPO told this reporter on Sunday.
Santosh said all the criminals were carrying country-made pistols and revolvers. "They knew everything about the house and were talking in Magahi language," he said.
