Heat wave on in Raj, Barmer records 43.6°C

Jaipur: Temperatures soared across the state Saturday with many places recording maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Barmer was the hottest with a maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees.
Meteorological department announced in its forecast that due to anti-cyclonic circulation, heat wave conditions are expected to intensify in the state till April 9.
The Met office said from March 7-9, places in Bikaner, Churu, Barmer, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer are likely to witness maximum temperatures around 46 degrees and above.
People in Jaipur experienced a minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius in the morning, followed by 38 degrees Celsius in afternoon.
The Met office said that Jaipur likely to witness a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Monday. tnn
