Worker hurt as PLFI ultras raid brick kiln
Daltonganj: Aleem Ansari, a 30-year-old brick kiln worker from Lohardaga, sustained a gunshot wound in his waist after six members of the banned outfit PLFI (People's Liberation Front of India), raided the brick kiln he was working in around 10 pm on Friday.
The incident occurred at Herhergorwa under Chandwa police station limits of Latehar district, the police said on Saturday.
SP Kumar Gaurav said Ansari was admitted to Rims in Ranchi, where his condition was stable.
PLFI operatives, who arrived on bikes with their faces hidden, fired six rounds and snatched four mobile phones of workers before leaving behind a leaflet asking the kiln's owner Firoz Ansari to manage a deal with the outfit.
Gaurav said "deal" was an euphemism for extortion money and brick kilns were soft targets due to their locations.
