Social media influencer held for raping two women

Thane: A 52-year-old reel star and developer from Thakurli, Dombivli, who was on the run after being named in two separate rape cases, was arrested by the anti-extortion cell of Thane city police. He was traced and arrested from a hotel in Nashik late Friday night.
He also has 14 other criminal cases registered against him. Despite having serious offences, he managed to keep the arms licence.
A senior officer confirmed that he was arrested by the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Thane police Crime Branch at 8:00 pm on Friday. The arrest was made with the assistance of the Indira Nagar Police Station in Nashik city.
The accused was wanted in connection with two FIRs registered against him. The first, filed at the Manpada police station, stemmed from a complaint by a 19-year-old woman from Nashik. The victim alleged that the accused sexually assaulted her in the Dombivli East between Feb 16 and March 29, 2025.
The victim claimed she met him through Instagram, after which he lured her to his office with the promise of a job at Mumbai airport. In the secon case, a 29-year1old woman alleged that she was raped by the accused. — Nishikant Karlikar
