T'puram: Former Union minister
V Muraleedharan said the CPM functionaries who shouted slogans in solidarity with Palestine at the ongoing party congress in Madurai failed to notice the plight of hundreds of people in Munambam. He stated that the CPM placed vote bank politics over public opinion.
Addressing a news conference here, Muraleedharan said people would soon identify the appeasement politics of the LDF and the UDF. Muraleedharan mentioned that the CPM's claims about the BJP govt's approach to Palestine were wrong. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Palestine President on Sept 22, 2024. India provides Palestine assistance in health and education sectors," he said.
Muraleedharan, who urged chief minister
Pinarayi Vijayan to step down, said it would be unfair for a father to hold on to the CM post when he faces grave charges that could lead to imprisonment. The former minister stated that the enforcement directorate (ED) raids at the establishments of businessman Gokulam Gopalan have no connection with the ongoing controversy over the film Empuraan, which he co-produced.
