PUNE: The tragic death of Tanisha Bhise, allegedly due to delayed medical attention at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, has ignited public outrage across Pune and Maharashtra. In response, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has launched a high-level investigation into the incident.
Terming the case “deeply unfortunate,” Pawar has directed a panel of expert doctors to scrutinize the sequence of events that led to Bhise’s untimely demise. A comprehensive report has also been requested from the Pune District Magistrate to ensure transparency and accountability.
“The government has taken serious note of this case,” Pawar said. “The Health Department has been instructed to carry out a detailed investigation and take strict action against anyone found guilty of negligence.”
Public protests have erupted across the city, with citizens, organizations, and activists demanding justice and stricter healthcare accountability. While the hospital administration has released a statement defending its role, the government has assured citizens that no conclusion will be drawn until the inquiry is complete.
“We understand the pain and anger of the people,” Pawar added. “If any negligence is confirmed, legal action will be taken. Preventive measures will also be implemented to avoid such incidents in the future.”
He further urged citizens to maintain peace and allow authorities to conduct an unbiased investigation without disruption.
