Monday, my Mini Copper S & an open empty road: Started the week right

Went first along the whole length of the NICE Road. Drove up and down. Then down the ramp onto the Mysore road to Maddur.

BHPian shankar.balan recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Joyriding along the Mysore Express Highway today. Just to give my lovely Red car a run.

I just love the deep growl of its engine and its sharp crisp handling. Even if one is trundling along at 90-99kmph and occasionally ‘sending it’ to, 110-120kmph max, it is perfectly fine. It gives me a lot of sensory pleasure, aural, visual, tactile, visceral.

And the feeling of driving on an empty, open road, with concrete or asphalt stretching into the distance, winding along the contours of the land, nestled amongst some gentle rolling hills, is something that all driving enthusiasts will always love.

So today was one of those days. Absolutely empty roads.

Went first along the whole length of the NICE Road. Drove up and down. Then down the ramp onto the Mysore road to Maddur. A very nice breakfast at Maddur Tiffanys. Then back down the service road and U Turn back down to the Express Highway to Bangalore. Then the Nice Road, Hosur Road and back. 3 hours. 210kms covered. Wonderful feeling.

This is the perfect Monday morning thing to do - A Solo Run in a nice car, on a nice road. Priceless.
