Cars Submerged in Parking Lot as Flash Flooding Seizes Nashville
Cars were stranded in a parking lot when flash flooding impacted Green Hill, a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday, April 3.
Video filmed by James Otto shows the inundated parking lot, with floodwaters submerging several vehicles.
“This morning was the worst flooding I’ve seen in Green Hills in 25 years of living here,” Otto said in a Facebook post.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued more than 70 severe storm warnings and 21 flash flood alerts in the 24-hour period to 4:14pm on Thursday.
The storms weakened as they crossed Tennessee River on Thursday night, but the NWS said flooding would continue to be a major concern over the weekend. Credit: James Otto via Storyful
