Pune Police have registered a case against a man for allegedly assaulting a truck driver, forcibly taking his vehicle keys, and demanding ₹10,000 after a minor accident in Shivane, Pune.

According to police, the incident occurred on March 28, 2025, near Gomraj Steel & Sons, Dangat Patil Industrial Estate. The complainant was reversing his Eicher truck when it accidentally hit the front bumper of a Bolero pickup, causing minor damage. Following this, an individual near the Bolero pickup assaulted the truck driver, verbally abused him, and forcefully took away his truck keys, refusing to return them unless he was paid ₹10,000 as compensation.

The victim, who hails from another district, had no money and repeatedly pleaded for his keys. However, the Bolero’s manager took the keys and left the scene. Later, while the victim was heading to Ramnagar Chowky to file a complaint, a man identified as Navnath Chavan approached him and threatened him again, saying, “Pay ₹10,000 and take your keys, or I will make you regret it.”

Frustrated by the harassment, the victim lodged a complaint at Warje Malwadi Police Station. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under IPC 2023 Sections 309(4), 351(2), 115, 352, and 3(5).
