Danny’s career as a bollywood villain is known to many but he is even successful as an entrepreneur.

Many Bollywood celebrities tested their luck in the business after their Hindi film industry careers. Sanjay Dutt’s Whiskey became famous among commoners in a few days. Now another Bollywood star who is trying his luck in the liquor business is Danny Denzongpa. 

Danny has entered into a brewing business, creating a Rs 100 crore beer empire. His brand, Yuksom Breweries, has risen to become India’s third-largest beer brand which has surpassed businessman Vijay Mallya’s liquor empire in some markets.

Danny’s Business

Born in 1948 as Tshering Phintso Denzongpa in Sikkim, Danny made his Bollywood debut in 1971 with Zaroorat. He gave hit films like Love Story, Ghatak, Agneepath, Khuda Gawah, Krantiveer, and China Gate. He eventually was not doing films for some years and focused on his business.

Building Beer Empire

Danny established Yuksom Breweries in 1987 in South Sikkim, naming the company after his hometown. Over time, the business expanded more in 2005, he launched Denzong Breweries Pvt Ltd in Odisha as a greenfield project. In 2009, the company acquired Rhino Agencies Ltd in Assam in Northeast India.

With three breweries, the company has a production capacity of over 680,000 HL per annum.

Today, Yuksom Breweries is the number one brewery in Northeast India and ranks among the top three beer brands in the country.
