Twin celebration for BJP as foundation day coincides with Ram Navami
Patna: It will be the state BJP's one of the biggest combined cultural and political programme as the party's foundation day on April 6 coincides with Ram Navami. The state BJP has decided to celebrate the ocassion with a week-long programme, which will end with three-day ‘Chalo gaon-basti ki or (march to villages)' in each of the 243 assembly constituencies.
"The BJP was founded on April 6, 1980, under the leadership of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. But the BJP, along with its predecessor Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS), which was formed in 1951, together have completed 74 years," state party chief Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said on Thursday.
He added as the BJP's foundation day coincides with the Ram Navami, every party worker will have to be involved in the twin celebrations. "The party's 45 headquarters in all the districts will be bedecked and an exhibition on the 74-year journey of the BJS and BJP together will be organised. Our party workers will spread the message of works done by the govt to every household," Jaiswal said.
The concluding section of the programme will have the spectacle of the elected representatives of the party leading the ‘Chalo gaon-basti ki or' activity from April 10 to 12. "The booth-level workers will also participate in it," Jaiswal said.
Prior to that, a conference of 1.57 lakh active workers of the party, covering all 243 assembly constituencies, will be held on April 8 and 9.
