Two youths arrested with 100g of ganja

T'puram: Kazhakkoottam police on Tuesday night arrested two youths with 100g of ganja in two different instances.
The arrested youths were identified as Vivek Ashok, 23, son of Asokan of Misbah House at Chanthavila near Ayirooppara and Eby Sebastian, 42, son of Sebastian of Vattakunnel House at Alakode in Kannur.
Police said Vivek was arrested at Kazhakkoottam junction with 85g of ganja during a routine vehicle check and Eby was arrested from a flat at Menamkulam, where he was living on rent.
Police raided Eby's flat as they received an information about him from Vivek and 15g of ganja was seized from Eby. The arrested youths were working in private firms in the city. A case was registered against them under Section 20 B II (A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Police said more raids and inspections will follow in the city as part of measures to curb drug menace. TNN
