Driver, conductor of two private buses clash openly, arrested

The Udupi police have arrested a driver and a conductor of two private city buses who fought openly near Tiger Circle in Manipal over timings of stopping buses at the circle on Wednesday.

The clash was between Mohammad Alfaz, driver of Manjunath bus and Vijay Kumar, the conductor of Anand bus. They fought at about 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday in the presence of a few other drivers and conductors. Visuals of the fight, which was captured by a bus passenger was widely viewed on the instagram.

Following complaints by Alfaz and Kumar, the Manipal police registered it and arrested them. The police seized the two buses.

The police produced the two before the jurisdictional magistrate, who remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody on Thursday.
