Son of deceased constable charged with pension fraud
Jhunjhunu: A case has been registered at Pacheri Kalan police station in Jhunjhunu against a Haryana resident for forging documents to collect his deceased father's pension for three years.
The accused, Pradeep, son of late Rajasthan police constable Bhagwan Singh, withdrew Rs 8,20,738 by submitting fake life certificates to the bank and Buhana treasury office.
Police said Bhagwan Singh from Kultajpur in Narnaul Sadar police station area of Mahendragarh district, Haryana, retired and passed away on Sept 24, 2021.
The fraud came to light after fellow villager Rahul filed a complaint, prompting a six-month police investigation. Authorities found Pradeep forged his father's signature and used stamps from two schools, even securing verification from a govt school principal.
Once exposed, Pradeep repaid the entire amount to the treasury. However, Pacheri Kalan police registered an FIR against him for forgery and other charges.
Pacheri Kalan SHO Rajpal Singh confirmed the allegations were verified before filing the case.
Pradeep, also a village panchayat member, allegedly continued the fraud until Sept 2024.
