Truck driver killed in Vaishali accident
Patna: A driver was killed in a head-on collision between two trucks on Mahatma Gandhi Setu under the Ganga Bridge police station in Vaishali district on Wednesday. The deceased driver was identified as Mohammad Wasim, 32, son of Mohammad Salim, a resident of Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, the accident was caused by the truck driver who dozed off at the wheel. He lost balance over the truck and it collided with another truck moving ahead. The incident led to a massive traffic jam on the bridge, with hundreds of vehicles stranded for hours.
Traffic police personnel were deployed to manage the traffic and restore normalcy. Ganga Bridge SHO, Abhishek Tripathi, stated, "An investigation is underway. The body of the deceased was sent to Sadar Hospital in Hajipur for post-mortem examination."
