Mysuru: The Mysore district administration announced that it will begin water supply from Phase II of Kabini project to areas under Mysore City Corporation (MCC) and surrounding local bodies from the first week of May.
Engineers have been instructed to submit the distribution list for areas in MCC limits and Bogadhi, Srirampura, Kadakola town panchayat, and Hootagalli City Council by next Monday. During a meeting on Wednesday, DC G Lakshmikanth Reddy said Hootagalli should receive water for 3-4 hours a day until May.
Officials said 30 MLD water will be available after the project is complete. Once the electrical work is done, a test is scheduled sometime in April. MCC will receive 10 MLD, while the remaining 20 MLD will go to surrounding areas. Meters for monitoring water supply in each area will be installed. Local bodies are responsible for managing water distribution. MCC commissioner Sheikh Tanvir Asif and Muda commissioner AN Raghunandan were present.
