Pimpri Chinchwad police arrest 2, detain one; recover three country-made pistols

Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested two men from Dighi and detained a minor, who is a criminal on police records, from Chakan and recovered three country-made pistols on Sunday and Monday.
A team of Chakan police on Monday night detained a 16-year-old criminal on police records and recovered a country-made pistol from him. "The minor has three cases registered against him, including a murder attempt and possession of arms. We detained him on a tip-off," investigating officer Bhairoba Yadav of the Chakan police said.
Yadav said during questioning, the minor revealed that one of his acquaintances gave him the firearm, a few hours before he was taken into custody. "We are still questioning him," Yadav said.
The Dighi police, on the other hand, arrested two men — one from Alandi and the other from Wadmukhwadi — and recovered two country-made pistols and a cartridge from them.
The police on Monday night arrested Sanket Daundkar (23) from an open plot at Wadmukhwadi and seized a country-made pistol and one cartridge from him. On Sunday, however, the police arrested Giriraj Bairawa (35) of Rajasthan, currently residing at Alandi, and recovered a country-made pistol from him. "The arrested duo was planning to sell these firearms," an officer from the Dighi police said.
