Ara: Acting on a complaint of housebreaking and theft at the residence of a former village mukhiya on Tuesday night, Bhojpur police arrested four burglars and recovered all stolen goods by Wednesday morning.
"A complaint was filed by the wife of Mohan Sharma, a former mukhiya of Sohra panchayat, who alleged that the burglary occurred when no family member was present at their house in Hematpur village under Krishnagarh police station in Bhojpur district. The police solved the case within 24 hours of receiving the complaint and arrested the four accused," said SHO of Krishnagarh police station, Pawan Kumar.
The arrested burglars were identified as Kallu Paswan and his three co-villagers – Saroj Kumar, Sanjit Kumar and Yuvraj Paswan. According to legal experts, if convicted of housebreaking with intent to commit theft, the accused could face up to seven years in prison and a court-imposed fine.
The stolen goods recovered from the burglars included three electric water motors, a refrigerator, a washing machine, four cellphones, saris and various household items, the Krishnagarh SHO said.
