Capital to host Vrithi ’25 clean Kerala conclave this month
T'puram: ‘Vrithi 2025' clean Kerala conclave will be held at Kanakakunnu Palace from April 9 to 13. This event is part of the ongoing waste-free declarations by local bodies under the Nava Keralam people's campaign, said local self-govt minister MB Rajesh.
Coordinated by Suchitwa Mission under the leadership of LSG department, the conclave will include participation from Haritha Keralam Mission, Kudumbashree, Kerala solid waste management project, Kila, Clean Kerala Company, Impact Kerala, Amrut, Smart city employment scheme, water authority and other departments, missions and agencies.
It is expected that over one lakh people, including LSG institutions, more than a hundred exhibitors, technology experts, trade associations, startups, entrepreneurs, individuals from academic and research fields, educational institutions and the arts and cultural sectors, will participate in the conclave.
The conclave aims to enable LSG institutions for scientific waste management and its sustainability, create public awareness about scientific waste processing, attract investment in the waste management sector and provide access to expert agencies.
The conclave will be inaugurated by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on April 9. The closing ceremony on April 12 will be inaugurated by governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. Exhibitions will continue until April 13.
In preparation for the conclave, there will be presentations and meetings on solid, liquid and other waste management, climate change, circular economy, Kerala's model of waste management, national and international models and sanitation declarations from ward to state level.
